The D e p a rtm e n t o f O ff-Cam pus H ous ing p ro v id e s a d d iton a l se cu rity services fo r th e students. The d e p a rtm en t inspects all availab le housing, and rates the c o n d it io n and safety o f each. A lis t o f these houses o r apa rtm ents is made available to e ve ry s tu d en t re s id ing o f f campus. The Law Schoo l has p repa red a lease c o n ta in in g clauses to p ro te c t the s tuden t fro m unnecessary o b lig a ­ tions, and th is also is made available to each student. A lth o u g h C am pbe ll w arns that, “ As soon as you m ove o f f campus, yo u are a reg u la r c it iz e n ," he is also g iv in g increased a tte n tio n to the s e cu rity p ro b le m . He fre q u e n tly r ides w ith the SBPD as they survey the hous ing sections to ensure tha t s e cu rity measures are taken in a w ay w h ic h m ost benefits the s tuden ts w h o are u n d e r the care o f O ff-C am pus Housing. Since C am pbe ll assumed the p o s itio n o f c h ie f o f the departm en t, several le tte rs have been rece ived w h ic h p ro c la im that s e cu rity has “ done m ore than ever be fo re .”
